Yearly Look Back 2014

It is New Years' Eve!!!  Can you believe how quickly the year can go by? It seems like we are here too quickly sometimes.  This is a time when I enjoy taking a look back and reflecting on the fun crafting of the last year.  Here are some of the projects I loved this year and my goals for the new crafty year!

My Favorite projects of the year...
The Adventure Book autograph book I made for our Disney trip in October. My husband and I dressed as Carl & Ellie from UP for the Halloween party so our daughter agreed this would make a wonderful way to capture autographs.
A close second place is this Hot Air Balloon Card I made.  I loved the papers so much and it went together so well. Here are some of the other cards I made this year that I really liked...

Recycle Challenge Jump Rope Bear, Good Witch or Bad Witch CardWhen Life Gives You Trouble & Just be You Mirror Card.

One other project I loved working on this year included 4 different projects in the end.
For my daughter's dance recital I created 2 different cards (yellowblue) for each dancer in her 2 classes and one for her teacher. I also created a gift bag and pocket page layout using the fun dancers I created using various pieces form the Create A Friend Cricut Cartridge.
Finally, I think I found a great balance between die-cuts and pocket scrapbooking this year. I like putting the two together and plan on working on my albums much more this coming year. Two layouts I really enjoyed are the Double page Science museum and a dance class review spread.

It was sort of a light crafting year for me.  I hate to say I lost my mojo, but for awhile it felt like I had. I am happy to report it is coming back and I am working on some fun projects to share with you soon. I hope to post at least twice a week this year and get back into my scrap-booking both with Project Life and classic styles.

Hope you have a wonderful start to your New Year!!

Links to all the projects here are in the post above.  I so welcome your comments and hope you will continue to join me in 2015!!

White Christmas with Die Cuttin' Divas

What is your favorite holiday song? Mine has to be "White Christmas" especially when it is sung by Bing Crosby and even more when I see the light snow falling out my window. This week at Die Cuttin' Divas we are asking you to create a project based on your favorite holiday song.
So does my card show "the tree tops glisten"?  I so wish the sun would come out a little for a better photo but with all the white on this card I am happy it turned out.  I layered all my tress first.
Once the trees were glued down I used pop up adhesive dots to add the children on right on top.  I knew that I needed them to stand out a little so a little extra touch of sparkle on my tress was just right.
I so hope you are enjoying a wonderful holiday season. Come and join us at Die Cuttin' Divas for this challenge.  It is the last one of 2014 and we will return the first week in January 2015. Have a happy day.

Oh yes - Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband today!!!

O Christmas Tree with Die Cuttin' Divas

Good day to you and welcome to a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas. As we begin celebrating this winter seasons and holidays we thought it would be fun to get away...From those traditional red and green colors that is. This week the challenge is to make a Christmas card that has no red or green. Here is the card I made for this challenge.
I started by selecting the papers I wanted to work with and as I did the idea for a Christmas tree came to me with a fun yellow star. These papers all worked just right for what I envisioned in my head.
The final touch was the stamping. A simple sentiment and some falling snow finished off the look. I hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas and create without those traditional colors.
Have a wonderful week and as always your comments just make my day!

Supplies:
- Christmas Cheer Cricut Cartridge - tree and stars
- Pink By Design Winter Fun stamp set - sentiment

Shape Card Crazy with Die Cuttin' Divas

Good morning and welcome to Thanksgiving week.  Tuesday means a new challenge with Die Cuttin' Divas and this week we are having  fun with shape cards. For my card  I started thinking about what I am Thankful for and one thing is my friends. I made this card to send to one.
I started with this great digi-stamp from our sponsor for the next two weeks at Die Cuttin' Divas. This is from the BFF Roundies collection at Stitchy Bear Stamps.
These can be printed and colored or colored in many computer programs before printing, but black and white fitted my purposes just right. I did add the circle around it and cut that on my Silhouette to make sure it was a clean circle.

Once I had my idea all I needed was to cut the cute Kitty out and piece it all together. I had it all put together and did not have any pipe cleaners, but believe me she will stand tall and not flop over once I add that.

I hope you will join us this week in our Shape Card challenge. As always a prize is up for grabs every other week to a random winner. The next 2 weeks our sponsor is Stitchy Bear Stamps.

- BFF Rounndies from Stitchy Bear Stamps - Link HERE

All About Winter Hop Day 2!!

Welcome to Day 2 of the All About Winter Facebook Hop with KaDoodle Bug Designs and Die Cuttin’ Divas? I am so glad that you are joining me again today. This hop is actually taking place on Facebook but I wanted to share my fun project on my blog as well.  To start at the beginning of the hop head over to the KaDoodle Bug Designs Facebook page.-https://www.facebook.com/kadoodlebugdesigns
Today, I have this cute card letting my daughter know her Elf on the Shelf, Conner, will be here soon. I just loved the cute Elf Boy files from KaDoodle Bug Designs and knew they would work great for this card. I decided not to use the strips on the legs that he comes with to make him look more like our elf.
I also had to add some fun sparkle to his belt and shoe buckles. Isn't he the sweetest?
For his sign I cut out a basic frame and printed out some lettering.  I traced over the letter to leave an imprint on the black paper and used a chalkboard writer to trace over the letters.  I really like the handwritten look and a tracing fonts mixes it up a little bit so it is not my handwriting all the time.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today. Hope you will head over to Facebook and hop along with some great crafty friends of mine.
There are some fun prizes up for grabs as well.
KaDoodle Bug Designs has a $20 Gift Certificate for one lucky crafter - Sweet!
Die Cuttin’ Divas has 2 rolls of Divine Twine from Graphic Whiskers
Die Cuttin’ Divas has a variety of buttons from As Cute as a Button
Leave a comment on each project and you will be entered to win one of the prizes. Prize winners will be announced on Monday on the KaDoodle Bug Designs page and Tuesday on Die Cuttin’ Divas

He is the link to the Cool Beans By L.B. Facebook Page -  I would love for you to like my page so you can see more of my projects.

Let's Talk Turkey with Die Cuttin' Divas

Happy Tuesday everyone. Thanksgiving is coming up so soon so this week the Divas at Die Cuttin' Divas are talking turkey.
I love this cute teddy bear dressed as a turkey and had to put him on my card.  I found a round card, added a simple trim piece and got to work cutting out this cute bear. Once he was all done I decided to give his feathers a little stripe action.
And of course he needed to wobble because that is so what every turkey needs.
I hope you will join us in our turkey talk challenge this week at Die Cuttin' Divas.  Use a turkey on your project (and a die cut) and possibly win a fun prize.  We give one away to a random project every other week. Come play along.

- Gypsy Wandering Cricut Cartridge  - scallop circle layer

Ghost Poop with Die Cuttin' Divas

Trick or Treat is around the corner (so looking forward to it) and this week Die Cuttin' Divas want to see your Halloween Projects. I really enjoy making some simple treats for my coworkers and when I saw this cute idea on Pinterest  I had to go for it myself.
Ghost Poop!!  How silly and fun right? (okay maybe a little gross as well but it is Halloween). You start with a bag of marshmallows and an easy bag topper.

Next, I used print and cut to place this cute poem onto some ovals. I found the poem on Pinterest and just tweaked it a little to make it about more than one ghost.
The final thing I needed was my ghosts which of course needed some google eyes. Now I have a bunch of ghost poop to hand out to some friends. I also am working on a different version of this that I will share in a few days.
I hope you will join us this week at Die Cuttin' Divas and share your Halloween Projects!

Supplies:
- Mini Monsters Cricut Cartridge - ghost
- Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbion -
- Google eyes from Michaels
- Font on poem is Janda Apple Cobbler
